  • Anybody tried The Beer Machine?

Hello, I've always wanted to brew my own beer but I just don't want to make the commitment (equipment & knowledge-wise). I just came across The Beer Machine web page (http://beermachine2000.tripod.co

  • Does anyone know anything about the "Beer Machine 200"?

It's the "Beer Machine 2000" not 200 I've never seen this before, it's on sale at JC Pennys for $99.99 and includes 1 beer kit($30 value). Now it says it makes enough for 28 - 12oz bottles, but tha

    Price: $99.00

    Pros: Easy to make beer

    Cons: Makes terrible tasting beer.

If you want to make cidery tasting beer, this is the one for you.

    Price: $98.00

    Pros: There are no pro's

Cons: High price for low-low quality

I bought one of these about 3 years ago. If you follow the instructions at all - it is almost impossible to mess up. That is the only benefit.
The beer came out poorly carbonated with a very low ABV - guessing 2.5% tops.
In a nutshell it makes a beer-like beverage that most likely convinces most people who try it - not to do it again. That is what almost happen to me.

    Price: $99.00

Pros: Once properly assembled it does make beerlike it said.

Cons: the finished beer is still cloudy and when Co2 is introduced it's still flat.

    Recommended? No

I followed the directions to the tee, the end result is not what they said it's cloudy the taste is a flat beer. I'm wondering if the batch i got with the kit was bad or the yeast was old. I'm willing to give this another try with an American brown ale kit they sell before I completely file this in the trash.
P.s. they don't tell you what percent the alcohal content is of the beer your makeing and you can not take a hydrometer reading.
    I think thats wierd.
