One stroke of the racking cane/piston assembly will start a siphon when immersed in as little as six inches of beer or wine; less than six inches may require a second stroke. Includes a removeable diverter piece (essentially a big racking tube tip) to minimize sediment pickup.
Plastic; can be disassembled for cleaning and sanitizing.

This is one piece of equipment I can't do without. An absolute must. The first time I tried brewing I nearly quit in frustration trying to siphon. This eliminated all that.

Great product and the only racking system that I have used. I don't have a racking cane but I cannot imagine starting a siphon with anything else.
