I was cruising the internet one night after brewing try to find something to "aid" myself in the dreaded hassle of cleaning my gunked up carboy. I came across the Carboy Cleaner http://www.carboycleaner.com and was impressed by the videos and how easy it appeared. Skeptical at first I went to my local homebrew store and picked up the tool. Charged up my trusty cordless drill and put a bit of water and my favorite cleaning solution as per directions, after attaching to the drill and submerging in the carboy solution I was a believer in 20 seconds!! Not only did this work BETTER than advertised, but my carboys were cleaner than I was ever able to previously get them. Needless to say, I have the Carboy Cleaner and recently purchased the Keg Cleaner as well!! I highly recommend this product!!:rockin:

Has anybody tried one of these? http://morebeer.com/view_product/15974/ A bit pricey, perhaps, but I am sick & tired of half effective bent brushes. Does it work well? What material is used?

    Price: $30.00

    Pros: Cleans Quick

Cons: I think I screwed it up..

    Recommended? Yes

Long story short, I didn't read the directions. After fermentation I left the carboy for 1.5 weeks to really let everything cake it to try it out. Well it says use 3-5 cups of water, there was definitely a lot more than that at the bottom. It ended up shaking violently, poorly cleaned the neck (I ended up having to break out the brush) and scratching the neck of the glass carboy. :( I will try it again and get back to you
5 of 5 | November 22, 2012 at 11:26 PM I really like this product. I find it cuts my cleaning time down significantly and it does a better job that other methods.

    Price: $0.00

Pros: Makes cleaning my sanke keg fermenters much much easier.

Cons: Would be cool if they could develop some sort of one size fits all solution. My cleaner is large. Having one for corny kegs would be nice as well... if a single device could be used for either that would be ideal. UPDATE: The different size cleaning pads can be put on any of the 'stick' parts of the cleaner. Meaning if you want different sizes you only need to buy the different size replacement pads!

Item was donated to my homebrew club to help raise funds last year. I ended up winning it in the raffle. It's really quite nice and easy to use.

Pros: Cleans carboys in minutes! Uses power tools

    Cons: NONE!!

The price I listed is the current price on the Carboy Cleaner website. In reality I paid nothing as I won it in the vendor giveaway. A complete review with pics can be found in my brewing blog found at Mystic Brewing

In all I’m very impressed with the Carboy Cleaner™ as it performed as advertised and did much better than I had hoped for a carboy that was in horrible condition just 2 minutes before. On a normal carboy that only has fresh crud from fermentation in it this will clean it spotless in just a couple minutes of time. I’m so impressed that I will be getting the Keg Cleaner™ to help make sure my serving kegs are spotless as well. With that I would like to say THANKS!!! to the fine folks at Carboy Cleaner™. You have an incredible product and it truly transforms the task of cleaning a carboy from one that was dreaded to one that I look forward to doing as soon as the carboy is empty. I also want to thanks Homebrewtalk.com for allowing vendors to do these giveaways.

    Price: $27.00

Pros: Very easy to clean glass carboys very quickly. Removes hard krausen with little to no soaking

Cons: Pads are a little difficult to get in 6.5 gal glass carboy Neck is hard to clean on 6.5 gal carboy

    Recommended? Yes

Well worth the under $30 I spent. It is a little difficult to get to the top portion of a 6.5 gal carboy. The pads are also a little tight to get in the opening for a 6.5 gal carboy, but a little effort and they slide in. Overall the pros outweigh the cons by loads.

Pros: Easy to use! Simple and quick.

    Cons: None!

Makes cleaning a breeze. Done in minutes, no fuss no muss. They make one for cornie kegs also, I just ordered one. I could have just ordered the pads but it's easier to just use the other unit and it's not too much more. Wish they made one for bottles also. I guess I'll just have to wait for them to come out with one before I go back to bottling.
