    Pros: Includes Auto Siphon

Cons: Brewing Book pretty weak, picked up Charlie Papzains instead

    Price: $100.00

Pros: A truly complete beginner's kit

Cons: Bottling bucket leaks slightly Hydrometer jar is flimsy

    Recommended? Yes

I highly recommend upgrading from the standard kit to this one -- it has everything you need to get started (except ingredients and a stock pot, of course).

Actually bought it with a Groupon to expand our production and ended up wishing I'd started with this kit first. I'd still recommend buying some Star San and the Joy of Homebrewing, but you should still be in decent shape if you skipped those two items.

My only real complaint is the bottling bucket's spigot is finicky and will leak if not positioned in exactly the right spot. Also, do yourself a favor and buy a better hydrometer jar...the one with the kit leaks like a sieve.
