I am trying to figure out which pump to use to recirculate cold water through my whirlpool chiller. I already use the march pump for the wort. I originally bought a small submersible pond pump from harbour freight but it barely pushed the water through the coils. it looks like HF no longer carries the 1/2 hp model. Would this one work?

Or is there a better choice in this price range? Thanks

I use a very low powered garden pond pump. It barely pushes the water thru and comes out like a trickle on the other end but it works great. I don't think you need to move the water very fast for it to work.

I use the hose water to get it down below 100F then hook up the pump and recirc ice water thru the coil. Works great even in the hottest months of the summer.
