im very pleased with how this came out, the rye flavor is very strong, i think next time i will cut the rye a little and increase the honey. also i will raise the mash temp next time to 154 i think. i think the flavor addition of the casade goes well with the rye...i'm diggin it :mug: i am now obsessed with rye beers.

That actually sounds rather delicious. Is the sweetness from the honey malt very prominant?

its there on the front end, but the rye kind of bullies it out of the way for the finish... thats why i think i'll drop the rye down and maybe just up the basemalt. i really dont want more flavor from the honey malt, just a tooouch less rye.

I just Brewed Denny Conn's RyePA and called for 3 lbs for rye, and just tasted it and it was perfect. I think the flaked rye added more of a pronounced flavor.
