Hey guys,

So I am attempting my 1st 10 Gal AG batch this afternoon, but I see 1 area where I am going to have a problem. My equipment is a 15 Gal pot and a 60Qt. Mashtun w/ braid, I batch sparge. My problem lies in the fact that I only have 1 vessel that can heat enough strike and sparge water. Usually I run my 1st runnings into a secondary pot (only 3.5 gal capacity or so) and havent had a problem. But my 1st runnings on this batch will be more than the pot can handle. So, the questions is, what do I use to hold 1st runnings until I add my sparge watewr to the mash tun?

Edit: Homer bucket? Can it withstand the heat?

I use my old bottling bucket in cases where I have to hold onto the wort before I can put it in the boil kettle. You don't want it sitting around a long time, but it should be ok for a short time.

Bottling buckets or your fermenting buckets are good. If those are tied up I've used regular Menard buckets or coolers. Really anything.

It will only be in the bucket long enough for me to get 1st runnings and add sparge water, maybe 20 minutes
