If I followed the right link the PMW delivers 100 Hz, 8 - 30 Volt

Does the element normally run on 8 - 30 Volts?
 
No, elements run at 110-220v.....and they are at LEAST 2kw...so that's nearly 20A. So it looks like the linked PWM is rated for high current at low voltage, not high current AND high voltage. Nice find though....makes me want to trick my car out. Maybe you could use this to control an SSR? It's a viable option if you already have a transformer and don't want to use a PID for the boil.....
