i hav chext freezers for fermentation chambers, i am wondering can i turn it on its side and open like a refridgerator? will it mess up the compressor?

As Punx said... it will mess up the compressor. They are designed to sit a certain way, turning it on it's side, back, corner... will ruin it.

Well you can position it any way you want. Think of it as a different way of bending the cooling tray in a fridge. However you would have to remount the compressor so it was positioned how it was in the original layout or it will die a quick death.
