I'm going to be making a Weizenbock soon and plan on carbonating it with DME. Its going to be a 5 gallon batch. What exactly is the procces i do and how much DME do i use.

When you get ready to bottle, sanitize all the bottles, your bottling bucket (in you plan to use one) and any other equipment that you use for bottling. Draw off about a pint or so of the brew and add it to 1.5 cups of DME. Boil this for 15 mins then put it in the bottling bucket, this is your "priming" solution. Siphon the remaining beer from your fermentor onto the priming solution and stir gently so that you do not create any oxidation problems. From there fill and cap your bottles. I usually fill about 6 or 8 bottles, then gently stir the beer in the bottling bucket to keep the priming solution mixed throughout the beer. Hope this helps.
