my siphon tubing was really dirty after last use, so I just boiled some water to pass through it, and I was gonna soak it in that for a while, but as limp as the tubing got I realized maybe that's not the best choice. It was only for a few seconds before I pulled it out..... does anyone do this? I'll go out and buy some OxyClean to use on it.

I would avoid boiling water. Oxy is ok, just don't leave it in for more than a couple or few hours. you could also use bleach solution. Either way, you need to rinse very well. I always try to keep a length of new tubing on hand for "just in case". I also replace after several uses anyway, just for peace of mind.
