I have a recipe with a mash profile that says it's a single infusion,light body,batch sparge
but under sparge water it says 0.00 gals and under mash in it calls for 9.57 gals of water @ 158f
for 75 min(is this for fly sparging ?) if it is can I break up the 9.57 to a mash and two batch sparge's ?
10 gal mash tun this is an AG
This is for a17-1/2 lb grain bill and a boil size of 7 gal , and a batch size of 5.50 gal

here's a link http://www.brew-monkey.com/recipes/html/evileyepa.htm

Any help would be wonderful ,thank you all.

With a 10gal mashtun you won't be able to fit 9.5gal water plus 17.5lbs grain. I would mash in with 5.5gals of water at about 164F and the temperature should settle right around 150F. Once your mash is completed drain your MLT, add the remaining 4gal of water at about 175F, stir and drain again.

Thank you for the help ,I did what you said to and it worked out
nicely OG was 1,078 and the recipe's calls for it to be 1.080 ,so
not to bad for my forth batch , it's in the carboy, the carboys in
a bucket of water and ice cube bottles at 66f and i just
pitched a starter of washed Wyeast 1056 , nice brew day
and I had a home brew doing it today.

Cheers :mug:
