Just slapped another harddrive into my desktop at home cuz I was down to 24gb of storage on my data drive.

I have a 320gb drive split into 3 partitions, one for XP, one for Vista, and one for data storage. plus I have an older 80gb IDE drive for backups.

Just put in a 500gb SATA drive. A little quick math...that's 900gb, or .9 terabytes of disk space.

sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeet.

but Now i'm feeling like I need another 101 gigs just so I can say I actually have a terabyte at home on 1 computer.

I mean, you've gone that far, I think you need to go for the full TB.

Now if you had .9 TB of memory, I'd be that much more impressed. :)

I am just over a terabyte at this point, and it seems like I always cleaning up stuff and looking for more space. My next step will be to set up a Network Attatached Storage device, with about 2tb and move as much as possible over to it.

I've got 15GB on my Linux system and 10GB on the laptop. I think the NT box has 40. Since I'm on Hughes.net, I can't stream video anyway. My business partner, who does video work, has had a TB on her Mac for a few years. We'll probably be buying a Hammer soon.

I have a dual processor G5 tower with 1.5TB that serves music (20,000+ songs) and movies (just over 450 with TV shows).

Plus Mac Mini on the big screen. (80GB)
Plus a 17" imac in the kitchen (160GB)
Plus a 17" imac in the shed (160GB)
Plus 15" Macbook Pro (120GB)
External Backup Drive (400GB)

Wife's Work PC (160GB)

2.58TB Total

I have more than one addiction ;)

Let's see... Odin (file server) has 500 gb, but will have 1.5 tb within 30 days (hard drive order coming up soon)
Duolith (my desktop) has 250gb
Appletree (G3 tower) has 80gb
and then 2 externals, a 320gb and a 250gb
OH and the MacBook with 120gb
That's 2.52tb now, 3.52tb within a month. :D

... and these words came out of my mouth in 1986 while working as a computer specialist for Radio Shack.

"You will NEVER fill up a 10MB Hard Drive"

I still remember my old Seagate 65MB drive that I booted Windows 3.11 off of. May he rest in pieces.

let's see...

74 GB Raptor (just re-installed XP)
250 GB SATA
150 GB External
500 GB External
300 GB IDE (not hooked up, but full of junk)
various other smaller drives totaling roughly 450GB

so i have about 1.8 TB, but am only utilizing a littler under 1 TB.

hmm...i need some more external cases :D my new dell doesn't take IDE
