Yesterday I brewed a pseudo German Bock, using a German ale yeast. When I took a hydrometer and taste bud sample, I noticed that the wort separated pretty quickly in the glass. I don't remember any previous batches doing this, is this 'normal' or is something else going on?

I'm trying to post a picture, but not successfuly so far

I am assuming what you are describing is the cold break. Its normal. Depending on the recipe it can be really crazy at times, almost like a lava lamp. The goal is to chill the wort rapidly and get the cold break to settle and rack as little as possible to primary.

I only noticed it in the glass (hopefully you can see the picture). I had already transferred everything from my brew pot to my primary, will this result in any off flavors?
