I'll just throw this out there--I'm down in NOLA for the weekend seeing the effectcts of Katrina for myself first hand and it is beyond comprehension. One of the things I look forward to coming down here is a healthy dose of Abita and all its varieties. Right now they have a Restoration Ale where a portion of all proceeds go to hurricane relief. First I must say that it is a tasty brew, and second, they NEED THE HELP. The devastation down here is unreal and if I can I will post some pictures, but if you are able, buy some Restoration Ale or give a few bucks--this is a great city and a good beer town where you can walk around with beers in public which I love and it is sad to see the situation.

Off my soap box but I hope people realize what is going on.

To bad they brought that damage on themselves buy building casinos and not the levee. Anyway....I have seen and had a restoration. Very nice idea, and the beer aint too bad either. Congrats to Abita for helping out. Now we need a way to help the REAL victems of Katrina.....Mississippi.

It's freaky, we quit getting Abita about a year and a half ago. I just saw it for the first time since in the liquor store. Just Purple Haze and Amber, but how crazy that now AFTER the hurricane it becomes available.

This is the 1st I've heard of the "Restoration Ale" and I live in LA. Of course I'm 250 miles from NOLA but we do get Abita products.

Abita Amber is pretty good, but I can't get into any of the other beers they make.

I haven't been to the Big Easy since the hurricane but I have an EMT refresher class scheduled in May over on the Westbank side. I'm sure I'll get to see plenty of what still needs to be done.
