All recipes are 6 gallons post-boil, 70% efficiency, Morey for color, 15% evaporation, 7.27 gallons preboil, Rager IBU, and most hops are in grams not ounces. Most, if not all recipes are primary only (no secondary).

If you brew this, please reply with your results.

This beer is unavailable in Australia but what the hell I thought I would have a go because the recipe looked good. The result was fantastic. A deep amber coloured ale with heaps of hoppiness and underlying malt flavours finishing quite bitter. The hops and the colour are selling points for this.

I had to change a couple of things due to unavailability and my attenuation was a bit low. None the less, happy with the result and I will be doing a repeat of this beer soon.

Bump.

I loaded this recipe into BS and it's telling me I need to have a 3L starter or three packs of yeast. Also, since I was planning to brew this Sunday, I am cutting it close with the starter since my LHBS won't get the 007 yeast until Thursday afternoon.

Should I just go ahead with using Safale-04 (since I have heard they are the same strain?) dry yeast--AND will one packet do the trick?

Thanks and am looking forward to this weekend! :)

Brewed this a few months ago. Got all the ingredients at LHBS, and it was my first attempt at an all grain. I messed up when adding water, and only did a 5 gallon batch instead of 6. I live down the road from Ballast Point and was able to compare theirs to mine, and it was extremely close. Color was spot on, and if I hadn't cut short the water it would probably have been spot on. By far one of my favorite beers, and I will definitely brew this one again.
