I highly recommend checking out Bluelinebrewers thread on his killer Strawberry Blond. I have used that recipe more than 8 times with great success. Also, your friends will completely dig it! It requires a partial mash and frozen strawberries which inhibit the addition of unwanted bacteria. The thread is here:

I live in the states but consider the UK my home away from home. Unfortunately, I am not sure what you have available over there to brew with. My guess is that you will find Bluelinebrewers recipe completely compatible. If you have any questions, let me know or post to his thread. Bluelinebrewer posts often and is a very knowledgeable source of info.
