I made a yeast starter for the first time. 24 hours later i pitched it in a batch of bourbon barrel stout og 1.069. the next morning temp 63 degrees no fermentation yet. this is unusual since it always seems to start by the next morning. did i pitch dead yeast? if i did is it too late to fix the problem with new yeast?:(

If your started started, you yeast is not dead. WHat are you defining as fermentation starting? If you are going by airlock bubbling, don't use that as a guide. You made a starter, you did good, just relax and let them do their thing.

thanks. went and bought more yeast just in case, got home and the airlock was singing my song, bubble, bubble.
