Hello fellow home brewers.
I entered my first ever home brew competition, the 6th annual Virgina beer blitz.
The competition was on December 1st and i got the results today.
I entered a Robust Porter (12-B)
my 4 judges scores were 29/29/32/32.
The last score was by a master judge.
According to the feedback there is not a lot I need to do to improve my score.
They wanted it to be a bit more bitter/hoppy and I had a slight acidity to get rid of (caused by some fruit juice I put in it, skip that on the next batch)
But at least they thought it was a good beer.
For those guys that do competitions, how are these scores?

Those are about average depending on the competition. A master judge certainly knows what he/she is doing and would not give away a 32 for the heck of it- a 25 maybe to be nice, but you earned that 32. Granted a 30.5 average is a bit too low for medal contention, but I could certainly see a robust porter that is too malty getting knocked down a bit... Post your recipe here, maybe we can see something that would help you improve that a bit.

Thanks, I am at work right now but when I get home I will dig out the recipe.
