Does my keezer need to "breathe"?

Building a bar with the keezer under the countertop. It will not have wood attached to it just all around it like a box. Is the keezer need to have a little fresh air,will it get hot when it runs?

Short answer... yes.

Had more typed up but I have too many beers in me to form logical sentences relating to the subject.
