so I'm mainly a beer guy, but I have a few wines/meads going in a 1 gallon, 3 gallon and 5 gallon carboy, I really want these to be really clear, but don't have another carboy to rack to.

Thinking I can rack off the lees into a bucket, quick clean the carboy then rack back into it. Is this a ok idea?

I do this anytime I need to. I only have a few carboys and they are all full so I will rack to bottling bucket, cleancarboy and replace wine back in carboy.. You might have to top up a bit.

Calculate out How much you would need and start a siphon using enough hose to hold all 5 gallons. Keep it I'm the hose while you clean the carbon and rerack it back into itself.

I kid I kid. Like everyone else said put it in a bottling bucket a just wash out your carboy and you'll be fine.
