i brewed a red ale about a week and a half ago, i transferred the beer into the secondary. i recipe i was using for a guideline with the red ale, called for using gelatin finnings along with irish moss. i have no gelatin to add to the beer. is this going to create a problem with the way that beer ends up drastically? or will the beer just have a chill haze problem when finally bottled? because it looks pretty good the way it is right now? any experience with not using gelatin and getting away with it?

:mug: keep the glass full !

I've used finings, but rarely do anything beyond letting the ale settle.

I am of this school of thought as well. It expedites the process of clearing, but is not necessary in many of the recipes I have.
