Hey all. I am curious about tying to mash in a keggle. All of the false bottoms that I have seen have a piece of pipe that connect up to the ball valve. That's against gravity? Do you need a pump to do it, or am I missing something?

if you have HERMS, RIMS, insulation or some other way to keep the heat in the keggle, i am 100% on board with bottom drain + false bottom with no hole. 100% return of liquid, clean in place capable, no need for dip tubes.

my experience with a keggle mash tun is that it won't hold temps without some other way to heat the mash.
