I searched the forums but couldn't find any answer that I wanted exactly.

I'm brewing a Hoegaarden style on Saturday and I'm not planning on using a secondary.

As of right now I only have one carboy that's currently full.

Should I invest in a second carboy or just use my bucket for the full length of the fermentation?

thanks

Use you bucket. You won't have a problem as long as it's HDPE. Just leave it in there for the 2-3-4 weeks, whatever you're planning on for fermentation. I've left beers in buckets for over 4 weeks with no ill effects. :mug:

Thanks for the quick answer.

I did an old extract brew like that and nothing happened, but this one is special so I wanted to make sure.

Cheers

Invest in another carboy...you can never have enough :)

And that's not to say you can't use the bucket...you can, but planning for the future is important!

Buy another carboy, you will probably end up buying one down the road anyways!
