I'm hosting Teach a Friend to Homebrew on Saturday and will have a handfull of people over. We'll be brewing up my amber rye and I would like to have some examples on hand of some good amber and rye beers. I know y'all got some suggestions, so lay 'em on me! What would you bring?

Founders is good, defintely on my list. Yeah, any ambers or ryes are what I'm looking for. Common folks. Help a brewer out.

AHS makes a rip-roaring good Pale Rye kit. I like it so much I've done it twice. 1/2lb C120 makes it pretty much amber. Ask real nice and I'll send you a bottle.:mug:

North Coast Red Seal is my favorite AAA. Mendocino Red Tail is good too.

Bear Republic Hop Rod Rye is awesome. Real Ale Full Moon Pale Rye is kind of like a reasonable-gravity little cousin to Hop Rod, and they have it at my corner store!

Red Seal is fantastic!

Full Moon Pale Rye is my favorite commercial beer. I love that stuff. I really should do the rye kit from Austin Homebrew. I keep talking about it but haven't brewed it yet. You're making me thirsty. ;)

Throw this in for a ringer: Budweiser American Ale. :D

I actually like it. It's a little thin, but otherwise balanced. Nice aroma.

Hop Rod Rye and Red Rocket Ale from the Bear Republic brewery are very good. The Red Rocket is an amber ale that is a litlle bigger than most ambers. Hop Rod Rye has 20% rye malt in the grain bill.

Hop Rod is a very good beer, but I'm not sure if it's an exemplar of rye beers. However, an over hopped American IPA seems to be the only place rye makes an appearance these days.
