Brain fart, I needed just under a gallon of 167 deg water for my mash.
I used my 2 cup measuring measuring cup but for some reason I used just under 8 cups instead of 16. MATH !!!! uh.
Didn't realize it until I added my grain, pretty darn thick.
I have an additional 8 cups heating now. Hope I didn't ruin the batch.

Don't worry about a thick mash, its pretty negligible in the grand scheme of things. Temp is what is important and if you don't go too hot you will be fine. Just call it a protein rest and perhaps bump the sacc rest a few degrees to adjust for the body.

Thanks, got a bit nervous there, I manage to get my mash were I wanted it,
My first time using my barley crusher so this will be my freshest batch to date.
Robust Porter so some room to hide flaws.

Absolutely...what is a brew day without a hiccup here and there

well, yeast pitched, everything worked out just like magic.
And for the first time I hit 80% efficiency.
Crushing your own grains seems to make a huge difference.
