Have a couple questions about an element for my RIMS tube. I was initially planning a different setup and have my control box wired for 240V. Price wise there is no significant different between the cost of a 120V and 240V.

The element will be run via a PID so is there any risk to using a 5500W 240V element for my RIMS tube. I also found a 2500W 240V but it is the same price.

The only way I'd run a 5500w element in a RIMS tube is if you set it up to run at 120v during wort recirculation. Even with PID, it's going to be too much watt density for that small of a system.

So then get the 2500W 240V element is what you are saying. Cause I really dont want to have to buy new stuff to rewire my element connection for 120V
