Here's a rough sketch of my next beer. I'm looking for a slightly hoppy amber. Let me know what you think. Also planning on adding about 3 oz pale chocolate.

Yeah, I was thinking it could benefit from some dry hopping. I'll be out of amarillo but have extra cascade and maybe some centennial sitting around. Thanks for the comments.

that will certainly work as well. just curious, any particular reason you're doing the 40min add since you'll get basically no flavor out of it?

Have you considered JZ's Evil Twin (or a similar hop schedule)?

It's done with all late addition hops. I just brewed it and it's great so far, though my yeast got too cold and maybe left my FG a bit too high. Sweet at the start and then you get hit with the hops.

A hoppy amber to me is a little more IBUs than that. I find the hops get lost in the crystal, munich and victory. At 32 IBU's you are quite balanced. I just started drinking the Big Red One, its a hoppy amber! I think you would be suprised how much you can hop an amber. The latest for me:

60 min 1.5 oz Columbus
10 Min 2.00 Cascade
10 Min 2.00 Centennial
FO 2.50oz Centennial

Simply awesome.
