Hi everyone.

I picked up a couple of these pots ( http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000VXKJJ8/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20 ) and a march pump, which will be delivered in by this Friday.

Eventually it'll all be part of an automated electric 15gl herms/rims.

Can someone point me in the direction to some good quick disconnects that I can use in the system so that I can move the pump hoses back and forth between all the pots/chiller/cooler?

Thanks.

I bit the bullet about 6 months ago, and replaced my poly plastic QD's with the MoreBeer Stainless Ball-lock style QD's.

They cost a small fortune, but for durability, flowrate, and ease of use, they can't be beat. I have no regrets about the purchase.

I used 1/2" MNPT x male QD on all of my vessels (valves, pumps, chiller, etc.) and used 1/2" Barb x fem QD on all of my hoses. That method allows one handed operation to connect/disconnect.

I went with the QD's from midwest supplies but I'm sure any of the ones you pick up from Midwest, Morebeer or NB are pretty much the exact same thing.

I just got my camlock QDs from stainlessbrewing.com. I'm not sure if I like the 1/2 barb part of the female components. The bore of the barb part seems quite restricted. Can anyone compare this dimension to the ball lock QDs available from the vendors referenced here?

The barb part looks to be about a .300 inside diameter, a loss of about 40% of cross sectional diameter. Probably not too good for a pump.
