I would like to make a barleywine but I'm not sure how to get started. I've decided that I don't want to do a kit this time and I also want to make this with a five gallon fermenter.

Should I do an all grain or should I do an extract? Any recipes that you can suggest would be very helpful.

Thank you and cheers. :mug:

I'm about to start a batch of DuClaw's "Devil's Milk" (love the name!), almost 11% ABV. If that's not barleywine, then it's damn close.

Here's the extract recipe I'm using:

They have an all-grain version too, if you want to go that route:

I've never done anything so heavy, so it'll be quite the experiment! Results in a couple months...

Cheers!
