Looks like one of the neighbours is doing a trip to the dump very soon, and there's a hot water tank sitting there in the rubbish pile. Should I ask grab it to use as a brew pot, or am I better off to go and buy an electric one? What if anything would I need to do to make it useable besides cutting the top off and adding a spigot?
Cheers

What sort of metal is it made of? If it's plain steel, or galvanized steel, forget it. The acids in your wort will leach out lots of metallic tastes. You can only use it if it's made of stainless, or possibly if it's aluminum.
