Hey,

Quick question: was taking a hydro sample today (day 13 of fermentation) and my airlock fell to the floor. I didn't have any sanitizing agent on hand (need to visit the store), so I decided to boil some water in a kettle and put the end of the airlock that is in contact with the fermenter into the boiling water. Will this suffice or should I be concerned?

Thanks!!

I wouldn't even have done that much. Day 13 of fermentation, your risk of contamination is low because the yeast has already consumed much of the sugar in the beer, and is now the dominant microorganism in your beer. Furthermore, at this point your airlock isn't likely to come in direct contact with the beer, as the krausen should have fallen by now.

You have nothing to worry about.
