These days, I'm not brewing as much I would like so I have a surplus of ingredients right now, but it is good to see more Pittsburgh area people on here.

Right now I've been buying at my LHBS but if we could get some people together it would be a lot cheaper.

I still get my grain from my LHBS (in Oakmont) as well. But I would be interested in a bulk hops buy if anyone is interested. I've needed an excuse to buy a vacuum sealer.

I just ordered a sack from the LHBS but I would be in for a group buy.

Bugman9317 - Do you have an account with Country Malt? You stated you've been buying from the LHBS(Three B's?) currently and you can't do a large buy without an already established account with one of the bigger malt companies.

My wife is from Aliquippa. Might be moving back there in a few years, getting tired of Socialist CA. Nice to know some homebrewers are there for the move....I loved Church Brew Works. Fat Heads on south side rocks too :)

Those are just the tips of the iceburg... Rather than hijacking this thread any further, I think i'm going to create a thread "Best Bars in ____" Hopefully all of you Pittsburgh guys will chime in and point me to some cool new places

I'd be interested but. No offense here though. Last new member that did this ended up falling through. Strange thing is he had a 'club' site and it was never mentioned in his own forum. Not really trying to be a smart ass here, but who are you and why should we trust you?

There are some folks in NE Ohio that would like to participate in a group buy and I live in Youngstown so could probably pick up around 10 bags for the area in my small pickup. It could then be picked up from me to go to other areas. Think 'relay race' type of deal.

I wish this would've come up a few weeks ago. Right now I'm sitting on 4 sacks which should last me a few months.

At this point the folks from the NE Ohio list are interested in about 8 sacks if I pick them up. I looked up and my capacity is about 18 for my little truck.

I totally understand you being skeptical of me since I am new to the board. I am not a young kid trying to scam people out of money, and i own a reputable pest control business that services all of Western PA and Eastern OH. I have a business paypal account that I can use for payments and will charge it to my business credit card. If anyone wants to verify my reputation you can visit my business website you can go to www.spectrumpestcontrolinc.com and send an email or call any of the 100 phone numbers on the site and just ask for Jim.

Well, better than the guy that said he had to do it in a week or else he would spend the money on something else because he had very little self control. :D I'll probably direct the guys from the NE Ohio thread over hear. At around 10 sacks it makes it worth my trip to drive down.

I will be interested, however, I do not have a mill. I noticed that they will mill a bag for an extra charge. Does anyone think this would be an issue if we requested 2 bags to be milled?

Search for info on storing milled grain. 2 bags is a lot to have around milled from what I've read.

Jim, according to the map on your website your business is on the corner of Jefferson and Main. Is this where the grain will be shipped to? I live by the Butler County airport so I'm only 10-15 minutes away.

Even though I just bought several sacks, I can't pass this up. I'll be in for 4 sacks if it all goes through. I'll talk to my brother in-law and see if he'll be interested in any.

Bob

I will have it delivered to my home address that right across from the army reserves on 68 by the VA hospital so its only a few miles for you.

Yeah, that's even better. My Brother in-law, well my brothers Brother in-law lives on Avon Drive.

I am from clarion county. I would like to get in on this buy. Are you buying 42 bags of one specific malt or are you mix matching. Please let me know the details.
Thanks, Martin

I saw the president of our home brew club today. He said he would be in for a sack of two row and wants me to post it to our local forum. I'll see if this generates some more orders. But right now I have 5 bags worth just local and will see if I get more interest. That puts me at 8 to 10 with the guys north of me.

I'm still interested only if they will mill a couple of bags. Anyone think this would be an issue for them?

(I'm not worried about storing it).

Thanks Hermit. I saw that but was more concerned about us ordering 42 bags and have only 2 of them milled.

Subscribed. I'll have to pick out how many sack and what I want here. I'll message you when I have these picked. Thanks for setting this up!

I've started my own list. Mention to bugman that I will be picking up your grain when you contact him. We will verify what I'm entitled to pick up before I go down.
