I just installed a weld-less ball valve into my brew pot and I am curious as to how snug should everything be? I have it all hand tightened and I did a leak test. 15 gallons in the pot for a half hour, and not a drop leaked.:ban:

I noticed that the valve itself is not as snug as it could be, but if I were to make it more so my pickup inside would be at an unfortunate angle.

I hooked up my hose to the end and let it drain, no leaks again. Should I be good to go? I guess I'm looking for affirmation that when I brew next week I don't end up with a fiasco.:D Thanks!

mine was tightened with pliers just a bit over hand tight. I also filled it with water and boiled that a bit to make sure there were no leaks with heat applied. 10 brews later still no leaks.
