I really want 8oz bottles, seems like everyone else does as well, and the best answers I have found are Coronita's, and if they still make them the Rolling Rock ponies...

I am not sure where those bottles are originally made before they are sold to Corona and Rolling Rock, but lets just say its Ball Corp. I am pretty sure they make a majority of bottles across the US.

Does anyone know how it works to order special bottles from a mass manufacturing company like Ball Corp? I assume that if you wanted to make a bottle shaped like your face you could, however the cost to make the mold would probably be outrageous... Does Ball Corp. hold on to the molds? Could I call them and order brown Coronita bottles? Better yet could I browse their catalog of all the molds they already have, and just order a number of those in whatever color I wanted?

It seems like if it works the way I am hoping, local brew clubs could get several members to all go in and order 400 8oz bottles, or however many, to get a bulk discount, and then divy them up between the paying members?

Who knows if this would work?

Also if anyone wants to go halves or something on the mold for growlers with pry off tops I would be into that:D

For a custom order, I'm guessing you'd need to purchase somewhere in the 10s of thousands.

You could try contacting O-I to find out: http://www.o-i.com/Product-Solutions/Beer/

Their beer product catalogue doesn't show any pry-off ponies, though.

They may well direct you to one of their distributors, two of which are:
1. TricorBraun - http://www.tricorbraun.com/
I thought someone here contacted them and posted their minimum order, but I don't remember what it was.

2. Berlin Packaging -

You could start searching suppliers through the brewer's association
