I finally took the next step and did my first partial mash.
My OG was 1.49 . Is this ok and if its not what can i do?

Nice tiles! Perhaps take another reading or try with another hydrometer. Unless you planned on making an incredibly high alcohol beer, 1.49 sounds really high. Many imperial stouts and barleywines are around 1.104.
 
Apparently i was a little "influenced" last night. My gravity is 1.049 .
 
Yeah, a target gravity would be good to know. It also may take a batch or two to figure out how to get a high yield out of mashing with your setup. If you are a few points off, it is no big deal.
 
FWIW my SS oatmeal stout has an OG target range of 1.048 - 1.051. Mine ended up at 1.051. Yours looks exactly like mine:D. Partial mash here as well.

Thanks. My target was 1.051.
Being my first partial mash, i guess im just a worry *wort*
