Recently, I noticed a number of innovative and well engineered home brewing products coming out of the Great Lakes State and wanted to see if anyone else has any they know of.

Here's what I've recently acquired:

Cool Brewing Cooler (keeps my German Ales right at 40F!)

Hop Strainer from Arbour Fabricating (looking forward to it Chad!)

and finally, these from Grand Rapids:

Keep up the great work and thanks!

don't know about brewing products, but between Bell's, Founders and New Holland, there's some dang fine IPAs coming out of western MI

The stir starter is a michigan thing too.

We have some pretty damn good beers here, check out Dark Horse if you ever get the chance, Crooked Tree IPA is great and their Reserve Special Black Ale is amazing.

Sounds like a MI road trip is in order once we thaw out here in VT!

I may have to put some Heady, Hill and Lawson's in my trunk to keep my Subie from sliding ...

+1 on the stir starter:

Not a bad price but you can still easily build one yourself for $20-$30. There is almost no excuse to not have one especially if you are doing 10g+ batches or higher gravity (1.060+) beers.

Also if you ever get to Traverse City,MI you have to check out Right Brain Brewery. I've been to a a large number of breweries in Michigan and RBB is probably my favorite.

I love Michigan! Don't tell any of my Ohio neighbors though... I grew up in Indiana about 100yds from Michigan.

Also, just pulled the trigger on a 400 micron hop strainer.

Can't forget the Brew Hauler! http://www.brewhauler.com

Very helpful and not expensive.

I LOVE the crates too. I actually went to the manufacturer in Grand Rapids ( I live close) and picked some up. The building they are in is as cool at the crates :)

Thanks for the mention! Appreciate the kind words!

Can I drive to Lowell and buy one there? And would I get a discount if I can talk my club into a product demo during a meeting? ;-)

We have over 100 craft breweries, we have at least 4 meaderies open or in the process of opening up in the Metro Detroit area, we have several micro distilleries, the first female cicerone, at least a dozen homebrew clubs in just this area, at least a half dozen beer festivals, several contests a year which on average each one has a mimumum of 400 entries, and the most homebrew stores per capita than any other city in the nation. And 2 different beer periodicals covering the craft and homebrewing scene, and the Michigan Brewer's guild. Hence the title;

I live in FL now but lived most of my life in Mid-Michigan. Considering our ethnic "diversity" was mostly German I'm not surprised by this.

I called someone a polack when I first moved here and they had no clue what I was talking about. I was like ehhh nevermind. Additionally no one outside our great state knows how to play Euchre apparently.

What are you talking about? They teach Euchre in preschool here in Indiana.

Could not agree more...Crooked Tree is one of my favorite IPAs....have you had the imperial version?

I have on draft at Lockhart's, very good.

I thought I just had a "home team" bias towards Michigan beer but maybe I'm not as tainted as I thought.

Larry Bell is like Bruce Wayne in my mind.
