I've made a honey steam with just using honey, 3lbs of it. Thinking of trying honey malt instead but not sure how much since I've never used it

8# 2 row
1# Crystal 60l
.5# Carapils

Northern Brewer and cascade hops
Wyeast California Lager

What you think

People say that it can have a very strong flavor if too much is used.
I would recommend using between 0.5 to 1 lb.
You can always increase the amount for subsequent batches

I'm sure it will add a nice touch to that grain bill

I just used 5% in an american blonde and it is barley noticable. I will be trying 10% next time. Never tried it in a steam beer but it sounds good.

I'm not the biggest fan of steam but I've always thought it would be more to my tasting with honey or some spice...give it a go. 5-10% is a great starting place.
