i was going to bottle mead soon and i was wondering if a screw top enclosure will age the wine at all. i wanted to age it for a few years and was wondering which would be the better enclosure for that. i do not care if there is a pop or not when i open a wine bottle

Re-using an old screwtop seems like a good idea, but the caps on those bottles never seem to properly close up again. If you have BRAND NEW screwtop bottles (I.e. the P.E.T. bottles) they will keep oxygen out just fine, but won't help your mead 'age' the way a corked wine bottle will. Hope that helps!
