I enjoy GUINNESS Extra Stout and was trying to decide which stout kit to try from the various brew suppliers and was looking to see if anyone had tried the dry Irish stout from northern brewer?

Sorry, I have not, but Northern Brewer has been good to me and I wouldn't hesitate to buy any of their kits. Actually, I have their sweet stout kit and their ESB kit en route as we speak.

I can't say I've brewed it either, but looking at the recipe it looks like it'll make a decent beer. Whether or not it'll be close to Guinness is something I can't answer.

It's pretty much impossible to make Dry Irish Stout - or a Guinness clone - without at least partial mashing.

Cheers,

Bob
