All I care to do is check mash temps in mash tun. I'm not automating anything but I don't want a analog therm.

I bought a relatively inexpensive wired digital probe type for around $30 at Target. Works great 10 batches in.
I've got one of these that I like:

It's like the poor man's Thermapen. It's not quite as quick, but it's still very quick.
