Can you wash or freeze your bugs?

I have been reading the threads on yeast washing and yeast freezing and wondered if this is possible with bugfarms that are full of different critters?

If I freeze them in small amounts or wash and store them in the fridge in larger amount will all the different types of critters survive, yeast and bacterias? And if I grow them from a small frozen sample how to I get all the yeast/bacteria to grow at roughly the same ratio as the originals?

I don't know if the bacteria survive freezing.

It is unlikely you will get them to regrow in the same ratio if you either freeze or wash it, because bacteria tends to grow quicker than yeast.
