Time to order grapes already??

Are my wine buddies nuts? I got an email today from them looking to place an order with a vineyard. I have yet to get the details, but last year orders by February were too late!

So I committed to 300lbs of California old vine Zin. I'll let you all know how things work out and where they are coming from.

Are we talking Fall harvest here in the Northern Hemisphere? Or the South American/South African/Australian Harvest? Seems way to early to be talking about Zin from Cali right now.... But I admit that I've never dealt directly with the Vineyards before!

Many vineyards establish their grape sales in Jan/Feb...and hope for a good harvest when the time comes.

Interesting. Well, between 3 of us, there is 1000 lbs ordered. Should be fun!
