unconnected ball lock gas fittings... will they hold pressure?

I don't have a shut-off manifold for my CO2 as of yet, and I am wondering if simply leaving the ball lock fittings disconnected will bleed CO2? I filled the fittings with star-san, and no bubbles were coming up so I assume it's ok.

Experiences?

The check valves in connectors are one of the few components I've never had trouble with, they always seal.
