carbonating

I saw a few other of the little "pills" to drop in each individual botle when carbonating online somewhere and now I cant find them. I know of the Cooper ones but what are someother that are like this, anyone have any links?

Here is a link to Northern Brewer (http://www.northernbrewer.com/sugars.html) to their sugars. I haven't used Northern Brewer before, but I have a friend that swears by them. It looks like they have two different types of the priming tablets (Coopers & Muntons). I haven't tried using these tablets before, but I'm tempted to give them a try. Let us know how they work.

My LHBS owner says he uses them for all his beers, and swears by them. Personally, I've never used them, but in theory, you might have tablets that have a bit more or less sugar than some of the others, and you may get inconsistent carbonation.

My theory is this: They are still being produced, so they must work.

they offer exceptional service. Recommended highly. Their emphasis is on wine, but they have a full line of beer stuff in their store (not accurately reflected on their website).

I have used both the Coopers and Muntons. I like the Muntons a lot better because you can add just enough tablets to carbonate your beer properly, depending on the style and the size of the bottle. The Coopers drops work, but it is one great big hunk of sugar that overcarbonated most of my beer.

To be honest, I have only ever used these in an 'emergency'. I still greatly prefer to prime with 2/3 to 3/4 cup of boiled dextrose. Easier and cheaper, IMO.

I have never used them myself. I'd much rather calculate the needed volumes of CO2 for the style of beer I produced and carbonate that way than to add a preset amount to each bottle. . .

but if you wanted something easy, the drops would work.

thanks man, muntons was the other one I was thinking of but couldnt find, I must have completley looked over that page I checked northern and MW 3 times
