I have 2 empty fermenters which should be a crime punishable by being forced fed Bud Light. I also have a little bit of free time this weekend and would like to brew some beers.
First is an Irish Red. I've spent some time in the books studying up and reading other recipes and think I may have something that represents what I want. Looking for a dryer, crisp beer (maybe a little spice?)that has a noticeable, but not strong hop taste with red appearance.

5Lbs Marris Otter + 3lbs DME
.5lbs Crystal 120L
.125lb Roasted Barely
.5lb Breis Specialty Roast
1oz E.K. golding (60 min) 1oz E.K. Golding (30 Min)
WLP004, else Safale US-05
Target OG - 1.051
Target Fg - 1.014
Estimated ABV - 4.83
IBUs - 32.4
color - 16.3L

And then I am working on my house beer. I always liked the british style pale ales. While I love an IPA, toning down the hop profile is what Id like to do while keeping the rest in line.

House Pale Ale:
5Lbs Marris Otter + 4lbs liquid malt extract
.5lb Crystal 40L
.5lb Biscuit Malt
.13lb roasted Barley
.5oz Galena Hops(60 min)
.5oz Fuggle Hops (30 minutes)
.5oz Fuggle Hops (5 minutes)
WLP005, WLP013, else Nottingham Yeast
Target OG - 1.056
Target Fg - 1.016
Estimated ABV - 5.24%
IBUs - 36
Color - 13.0L

Any input or suggestions would be appreciated!
