My first mead is in the fermenter, made with 17 pounds of my own backyard honey. I've been beer brewing for about nine months, beekeeping for about four. Looking forward to learning about mead. I've printed the Sticky FAQ and read and reread the Schramm book. I intend to brew up a new batch or two each time I harvest honey, once or twice a year.

It's something that I think I will do in the future when I get a bit more land. It's one of those things that if my wife can see it, she won't go for it. Even though bees travel for miles and miles. If it's anywhere close to the house she won't let me do it. So when we upgrade to a different house with more space I am going to likely try it.
