I’m looking to brew a beer for an upcoming party and I love Rye! Looking for something that has “mass” appeal so APA’ish.

Rough Grain Bill but:
9lb 2-raw
2.5lb Rye
.26 C60

Any thoughts on hops? Or grain bill?

The best rye beer I've had kept a very subtle hop profile, so you could really taste the rye. You should have pretty wide leeway in terms of the hop selection, but I'd err on the subtle side for flavor/aroma additions.

I like the English (earthy) hops with my rye. I like the_bird also keep hop rates down when brewing with rye. The rye itself adds a unique spiciness to the beer so I try to compliment it.

I used Columbus & Chinook on my last Rye IPA. The hops gave it a slight oniony note which gave me a patty melt flashback. Was excellent like that but the onion faded quickly and I was left with a more normal beer.
