I have this as my outlet:
http://www.lowes.com/pd_71247-334-3...uctId=1098685&Ns=p_product_qty_sales_dollar|1

I think I am going to need to buy a different outlet to plug my kettles into because I can't seem to find a plug that will fit it. I think I could use this if I had to but the wires are not marked as to which is ground and hot:

Any suggestions?

Those links are giving me generic pages.

I don't know why I can't link the pages. Let me see if I can find them somewhere else

For the NEMA 10-30 receptacle you linked to, you should use the "L" shaped slot for ground.

You can test with multi-meter to see which wire on that cable is connected to the "L" pin on the plug. It's probably the center one, but use a meter to check.
