Idophor (ok got that out of the way).

Although Star San can also be used. Star san uses a concentrated acid (ph2? fwiw, I think lemon juice is a 2, so it will be that harsh on your skin).
Idophor uses iodine to kill germs.

Other options are things like bleach and oxyclean can even work. I don't recomend oxyclean unless you find you have no other option and your wort is boiling at this instant, and then I suggest you go buy some Idophor. can is not equal to should.

But really either StarSan or similar or Idophor or similar are best because they are contact or no wait and no rinse sanitizers. Oh and buy the 'big bottle'. Both are sold in small 4 oz bottles and in larger bottles like 32 oz. The 32oz will be 2 to 3x price of the 4oz but has 8x the amount.
